Anxiety & Stress

When your mind won't switch off, life gets smaller. Using evidence-based therapies, together we can work to reclaim those parts of your life that anxiety has taken, and for you to live the life that you want to live.

What anxiety can look like

Anxiety wears a lot of faces. Sometimes it's constant worry. Sometimes it's intrusive "what ifs," physical tension, difficulty sleeping, or a general sense of dread you can't quite pin down. Sometimes it shows up as perfectionism, over-preparing, or avoidance that slowly narrows your life. Oftentimes these "problems" have function and at times actually help, and part of our challenge is determining what's workable. For the unworkable, we develop skills and strategies for you to respond differently.

How we work with anxiety

  • Understanding your pattern: anxiety is usually a sincere attempt to keep you safe. We map what's feeding it, thoughts, behaviours, physical responses, so we can work on the real drivers, not just the symptom.
  • Tools that apply in real situations: practical, field-tested strategies for calming the body and interrupting the worry loop, drawn from CBT, ACT and Schema Therapy.
  • Security, not just coping: we build confidence and self-trust, not just techniques, so life expands rather than requiring constant management.
Research suggests that most people suffering anxiety experience significant improvement in their symptoms when they engage in evidence-based treatments for anxiety by trained clinicians.

Common areas I support

  • General worry and rumination
  • Panic and panic-related fear
  • Social anxiety and fear of judgement
  • Work and performance pressure
  • Health anxiety
  • Sleep disruption related to stress

When to seek support

There's no threshold you need to reach before it's "bad enough" to ask for help. If anxiety is costing you energy, sleep, relationships or satisfaction in the things that matter, that's reason enough. Earlier support generally means faster, easier progress.
